Conrad Murray had his allies there too: 'They don't bring up drug dealers on trial when people die from overdosing,' one person tells MTV News.

LOS ANGELES — Even before the verdict was announced in the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, the growing crowd outside the courtroom already began voicing their opinions about the potential outcome. Chants of "Guilty! Guilty! Guilty!" were met with signs supporting Michael Jackson's former physician.
Once the verdict was officially announced, that Conrad Murray was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson, MJ's fans erupted, appearing to outnumber Murray's supporters by a large number.
In the moments following the announcement, supporters of Murray, fans of the King of Pop and general passersby weighed in on the verdict.
"I don't necessarily think it's fair that they found him guilty, because apparently Michael Jackson did have a drug habit, and I think if he wouldn't have given Michael the drugs, he would have got them from someone else," Lafonda Baker told MTV News. "I think that definitely his [medical] license should be taken away and he shouldn't be able to practice anymore, but I don't think he should be going to jail for that."
"I think that he was guilty of being a drug dealer, if anything," Jay Ellison added. "Michael was an addict, much like she said: If he didn't get it from [Murray], he would have gotten it from someone else, and we would have seen this trial with somebody else getting the [guilty] verdict. I just think it is what it is. This whole thing to me is crazy, because if it wasn't [Jackson], I know people who are hooked on prescription drugs [and] the doctors who write those prescriptions for them don't get brought up on trial for manslaughter if [their patients] die. They don't bring up drug dealers on trial when people die from overdosing. It's just crazy to me, but because it's Mike, you've got all the hype."
"Michael Jackson is loved by so many people, us especially," Baker said. "But we can still look at it and see that it's not really right."
"I believe he is guilty on some level," Renee Simmons said. "He gave [Jackson] a lethal dose [of propofol]. He should be responsible and should pay consequences for that. But I believe that there are so many others around him and that it's just a really sad story, because the list goes on of how many people are involved in that, and I think when you're paying somebody that much money, it might mess with your judgment a bit. I know there are nurses around him, employees, there are numerous people around him that are responsible, so I do hope that there is going to be justice for everyone."
Gregory Son, who attended the announcement of the verdict with a large sign in support of the prosecution and Jackson's family, was especially enthusiastic about the guilty verdict.
"Praise God, hallelujah! The truth will prevail, as it always does, and justice for Michael's family, justice for his fans, justice for the truth and justice for the justice system," he said. "God bless the great state of California and these lawyers; these lawyers did a great job."

Looking to put the drama behind him, Justin Bieber took a DNA test last Friday, and now Mariah Yeater will submit her baby for testing.
The 20-year-old woman, claiming that the ?Never Say Never? singer is the father of her child, hired a new Chicago-based legal team led by Jeffrey Leving to represent her after she was dropped by her original attorney.
Leving, told MTV News that while the suit has been dropped, negotiation for a settlement will continue.
In addition, Leving is saying that he has a problem with Bieber?s DNA test because a member from Leving?s legal team was not present when it was administered.
Meanwhile, an un-fazed Justin is plugging away at his promotional tour and took the stage for a super-duper performance on the ?Today? show in New York City on Wednesday (November 23).

The first "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" teaser trailer, released back in June, gave fans a look at the wedding of Bella Swan and Edward Cullens. But equally interesting were the guests of honor featured in the wedding sequence, which introduced new characters like the Denali clan of vampires. But with the movie in theaters on Friday (November 18), one attendee in particular will likely have Twilighters geeking out.
"The Twilight Saga" author Stephenie Meyer made her first cameo in the series back in 2008's "Twilight," playing a restaurant patron. But the author-turned-executive producer on parts 1 and 2 of "Breaking Dawn" couldn't resist returning to the big screen so she could attend the wedding ceremony she inspired. In a blink-and-you-miss it moment, Meyer can be spotted sitting in the pews on Bella and Edward's big day. But she's not the only behind-the-scenes figure who makes a sneak appearance.
"I'm right next to her!" "Breaking Dawn" screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg recently told MTV News.
Rosenberg understands, however, if fans don't recognize her on the first viewing, because even she couldn't find her cameo at first. She admitted to jokingly telling director Bill Condon that "there's one guest at the wedding who's not seen enough," until Condon added a few more frames in the movie. But when Rosenberg still couldn't spot herself among the guests, Condon took matters into his own hands.
"Finally, during one screening, he stopped and said, 'See! There you are!' " she said with a laugh. "It was Stephenie and then [producer] Wyck Godfrey and then myself and then [producer] Bill Bannerman, we were all in the same row at the wedding."
And as Meyer and Rosenberg are behind the "Twilight Saga" screenplays, it only makes sense that they took the time to come up with a backstory for their respective characters at the wedding.
"Stephenie was married to Wyck, and I was [Bella's mom] Renee's friend from California," Rosenberg explained. It sounds like there's a fan-fiction to be written about the time between Meyer's diner dinner and when she got invited to the Cullen wedding!"

'We're loving every single minute of it,' Welsh rockers tell MTV News of playing large venues.

Shortly before Welsh rock band the Joy Formidable took the stage at New York's Madison Square Garden to open for the Foo Fighters earlier this month, they sat down with MTV News to discuss what a great experience the tour has been for them.
"It's such a delight being on tour with the Foos and Social Distortion," lead singer Ritzy Bryan said, giving a shout-out to the tour's other opening act.
"The Foos heard a track of ours on the radio and really liked it," she explained of how they came to be on the tour. "It just happened really naturally, you know, picking up on a band, supporting new music. [They] invited us on tour on the back of that.
"It's very surreal," she added. "We've been playing some really big venues."
Though the band is accustomed to playing larger venues back in the U.K., all three members, including bassist Rhydian Dafydd and drummer Matt Thomas, agree that playing Madison Square Garden really means something special.
"When you talk to people about Madison Square Garden back on home soil, it's like, 'Wow, what an iconic venue,' " Dafydd weighed in with a big smile.
The already chipper musicians all lit up even more when we asked them what's next for them.
"We're very, very busy now writing our next record," Bryan said. "[We're] just losing ourselves in that at the moment. We're very, very happy to be here and loving every single minute of it."

"Twilight" fans should know by now that the original sex scene filmed for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" was a lot steamier than the version that made the final cut. The MPAA said the film would need an R rating if director Bill Condon didn't cut out some of the "thrusting."
Needless to say, he did, and "Breaking Dawn - Part 1" currently reigns atop the box office with a PG-13 rating. But screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg admitted to MTV News that she wished the raunchier cut had made it to the big screen.
"Bill, he went for it," Rosenberg said with a laugh when she recently spoke to MTV News. "I wanted to keep [the footage]."
Though all the bumping and grinding didn't make it to the final cut of the film, Rosenberg is crossing her fingers that a lot of the footage will make it to the DVD. So everyone out there hoping that some of the more explicit parts of that sex scene will one day be released for public consumption, you just might be in luck.
That's not the only scene that got chopped from the final cut of the movie, though. Rosenberg said there was a sequence before Bella and Edward's wedding that also got the ax because it was slowing down the rest of the movie.
"There was a whole section before the wedding with Charlie, Renee and Carlisle and Edward, kind of a back-and-forth, but it just slowed everything down. But there are some nice things in there," she said.
To calm fans who might be upset about missing that interaction, Rosenberg added, "But again, these are things that will show up someday."

Essential Info: Mike Posner is in touch with his rap side. On his new mixtape The Layover, he enlists the help of noted spitters like Bun B, Big K.R.I.T., Twista, Slim Thug, Cyhi the Prynce and Machine Gun Kelly — not that the "Cooler Than Me" singer lacks hip-hop swag, though.
"I'm kind of like a rapper trapped in a singer's body," Posner told Mixtape Daily. "That was the whole idea of me starting to sing in the first place. It took me a long time to stumble upon a sound, and I figured out I wanted to kinda sing rapper's lyrics."
Maybe it's his smoky voice or the way he intertwines slang into his lyrics, but the seemingly poppy Posner is a definite product of the hip-hop generation. Doubters need look no further than the recently released Layover. For much of the tape, Posner takes classic records like Oasis' "Wonderwall" and Elton John's "Rocket Man" and adds his own swag.
On "Henny & Purple" the Detroit crooner dedicates an entire song to getting high and drinking drank; for "On Fire," he and Machine Gun Kelly revisit Posner's 2009 track "Drug Dealer Girl" and deliver a well-equipped sequel. Things get even dustier when Mike enlists former Slum Village lyricist Elzhi to jump on "Mittens Up."
On the bouncy track, Mike borrows from 50 Cent's "Wanksta" when he sings, "Damn, homey, in high school you was the man, homey," but it is Elzhi who has the tape's most densely packed lyrics.
"That's why I make mixtapes, that's why I work with Don Cannon, that's why i work with Big Sean," Posner said. "Even though I don't rap, I got love and acceptance in that community, and that's something that I really take seriously and hold close to my heart."

At first I thought the birds in the trees at the Foxconn's largest plant in Shenzhen, China were fake. They sang so sweetly that I was sure my hosts had planted speakers for my benefit - a sort of Potemkin aviary high in the branches. The plant, called Foxconn City, is one of Foxconn's 26 major and minor factories around the world. Built by founder Terry Gou in 1974, the City was the first of the many sprawling Foxconn complexes and covers three square kilometers. It is home to over 400,000 workers, many of whom live in university-style dorms on the Foxconn campus. It is reported to be China's largest private employer and holds a place in the Western mind as the home to a new form of economic slavery, an eternal bogeyman that haunts the fever dreams of anti-techophiles. It's also a place where thousands of young employees - some completing their degrees while they work through school, others simply trying to escape the grinding poverty of their home districts, and still others hoping for a leg up in China's wild economy - come to assemble the items that surround us. Here they make our PCs, our MP3 players, our routers. Here they make our laptops, our cellphones, and our cameras. In the past year, only one other journalist has been allowed past Foxconn's gates to see the factory, which is why I thought they had brought the birds (or at least fake Bose birds) out for my benefit. Heading back home after a weekend away, LeAnn Rimes and hubby Eddie Cibrian arrived on a flight in to LAX airport in Los Angeles, California on Sunday afternoon (November 20).
Happy to be back on solid ground, the scarf and boot wearing songstress and her casually clad "Playboy Club" partner were all smiles as they shared a few tender laughs while passing through the photog-filled terminal.
Shortly after touching down, a tired LeAnn took to her Twitter, writing, "in my pj's hanging! I just flew home from WI today, too exhausted."

If more people read the credits behind some of R&B's biggest hits, Rico Love should be a household name. Born Richard Preston Butler Jr., the former Florida A&M University student is now one of the music industry's most-sought-after singer/songwriters.
After writing hits for Usher ("There Goes My Baby"), Beyoncé ("Sweet Dreams") and Diddy-Dirty Money ("Hello Good Morning"), to name a few, one of Rico's biggest hits to date is Kelly Rowland's "Motivation."
"It came about in a truly organic way," Rico told Mixtape Daily of the Jim Jonsin-produced "Motivation." "We had this meeting in New York: myself and Sylvia [Rhone] and Kelly. And they just were saying, 'We need to find that single; we need that big single.' Everybody was asking for an uptempo, actually.
"I flew down to Miami the next day, and that Tuesday, we got back in the studio, and Jim started playing these chords, and then coming up with these little sounds — the signature sounds that Jim comes up with. I just told him to lay it like a skeleton idea, and I jumped in the booth, and I started with the verse, and I kind of sang my way all the way through the record."
Rowland, formerly of Destiny's Child, was in the studio while Rico was laying down the reference track and made her regard for the song known immediately. "Kelly was there and watched the whole process," Rico recalled. "As soon as I finished singing the demo, usually an artist wants to live with it or listen to it for a little while. She just said, 'I want to cut it right now.' So she jumped in the booth, and we cut the record."
"Motivation" became the lead single for Rowland's third album, Here I Am, which was released in April. The song, which peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, features a verse from Lil Wayne.
"Lil Wayne got out of jail a few days later, and as soon as he got out of jail, [Rowland] went to see him, and he jumped on it," Rico explained. "It was the most organized situation ever. It was nothing contrived about it."
There's been nothing manufactured about Rico's accomplishments either. Starting his musical career as a rapper, he has signed former Roc-a-Fella rapper Young Chris to his Universal/Motown-distributed Division 1 label.
After leaving Florida A&M to pursue music, Rico caught the attention of Usher, and penned songs for the R&B singer, including "Throwback." Other artists soon benefitted from his songwriting, including T.I., Pleasure P and Mario. Rico takes pride in being versatile with his talents, preferring not to make specific songs intended for specific artists only.
"Sometimes, when you keep an artist in mind, you'll limit yourself," Rico explained. "You won't go a place that they probably would go because you're thinking, "Nah, she wouldn't say this," or "He wouldn't do this," or "He wouldn't say this," and "This melody is out of the way for them."
"When I get a chance to just get into the studio and just write music and just produce music and sit at the piano and tell a guy where I want to hear the chords and create the progressions and just freely make music, it's a lot more fun."
Lately, Rico has been back in the studio with Usher. In 2007, he was signed to the singer's former US Records via J Records. But his debut album was never released, and he and Usher went their separate ways.
But as Rico become a songwriting force, the two eventually started working together again. The first song they recorded was the Grammy-winning "There Goes My Baby" from 2010's Raymond v. Raymond. Now, Rico is working on Usher's forthcoming album and embracing the pressure of surpassing its predecessor's platinum sales and critical success.
"I feel like this is what separates the boys from the men," Rico said of working with Usher. "This week, we been creating records together. We had two mics, two headphones set up in the booth, and we just sit there and vibe out.
"These first few days have been amazing. We got four records cut so far that sound super amazing. I'm super excited about it. I'm just anxious for the world to hear it."
